NEWARK – Licking County’s average home sold price was $205,741 from January through July of this year, up 7.9% over the first seven months of 2017. There were 1,382 existing homes and condominiums sold in this year’s first seven months, down 1.4% from the same period last year when there were 1,401 homes sold, according to the Columbus REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service.
“With more homes on the market and interest rates still at a low, it’s a good time for buyers to purchase a home,” said 2018 Licking County Board of Realtors President, Mike Kennedy. “Now is a great time for buyers and sellers to partner up with a Licking County REALTOR®” Kennedy said.
The inventory of homes and condos for sale in Licking County was 405 at the end of July, with a 1.9 month’s supply of inventory. There were 293 new listings that came onto the market in July, a 1% increase from July 2017.
The average sale price of a Licking County home during the month of July was $204,448, which is a 9.0% gain over July 2017. There were 253 homes sold in Licking County in July, a 33.9% increase above July 2017. Homes sold in July spent an average of 25 days on market (from listing to close), down 16.7% from 30 days in July 2017. Homes going into contract totaled 288 in July.
