I want to thank all of the volunteers that helped with the Buckeye Lake Ryan-Braden Park Summer Food Program. Three churches sent volunteers to pick up lunches at the Salvation Army in Newark, and distribute them to Buckeye Lake area children at the park all summer. Funding for the program is from the U. S. Department of Education, and is in lieu of the school lunch program available during the academic year. The three churches are: First Community Church and Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, both of Buckeye Lake; and Hebron Christian Church. Community volunteers include “Sonny” Rolle, Lou Maresca, and Marianne Perine, coordinator.
Big thanks to Kaye Hartman, head of Volunteer Services for the Salvation Army. Kaye administers the Food Program for Licking County, and is a resident of Buckeye Lake.
