Serving all the communities of the Buckeye Lake Region

Leith asks voters for another term

Dear Walnut Twp Voters:

I am running for a second term as your Township Trustee & again ask for your vote on Nov. 7th. I ran 4 years ago pledging to represent

ALL residents of Walnut Twp & not a certain neighborhood or segment. I feel confident I have done that.

As Trustees, we must remain conservative in our spending due to the never ending reduction in state financial support. We must continue to apply for grants that allow us to stretch our dollars. We must continue to address the maintenance of the 58+ miles of Twp roads, the completion of the Buckeye Lake Dam project & support of our Fire Departments.

Along with my fellow Trustees we have worked long & hard on many Twp endeavors in recent months such as receiving a $500,000 Community Revitalization grant for the Fairfield Beach area to begin next Spring, required a RUMA agreement with ODNR to protect & rebuild Twp roads upon completion of the Lake project, developed a 5 year plan to address the upkeep of our 58+ miles of Twp roads, obtained funding to eliminate several blighted properties & are working to arrive at a viable solution to the ODNR demand of discontinuing private storm drainage into the Lake.

It is important for a Trustee to listen & seek residents’ opinions before acting. I possess a conservative spending attitude & bring “common sense” to the table with integrity, experience & commitment. I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 7th!

Doug Leith
