A funeral service celebrating the life of Larry Smith, age 68, of Glenford, was held January 3, 2015, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Glenford.
Larry was born November 24, 1946, in New Albany, to the late Dalton Emerson and Georgia Alice (Strait) Smith. He passed away December 29, 2014, at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
Larry was a finish carpenter by trade. He was primarily self-employed but had also worked with Grosse and Son and Columbus Contractors. Larry enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking and wood crafts as well as racing and restoring hot rods.
He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Smith of Pataskala, Sandra Jackson (fiancé Lance Shriner) of New Lexington and Laura Smith of Pataskala; three grandchildren, Christian Michael Rader, William Joseph Noice and Kamryn Kendall Shriner; twin brother, Jerry (Zella) Smith of Pataskala; special friend of 21 years, Tresa Cochran of Glenford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Eugene Smith.
