Lake plug pulled Monday morning

BUCKEYE LAKE – It’s one of the few deadlines ODNR regularly meets on the dam replacement project.

Construction workers removed the stop bars from the AMIL spillway in Buckeye Lake Village Monday morning. ODNR ignored pleas to extend the boating season into November. Water is gushing out the wastewater weir in Buckeye Lake Village. ODNR expects the two-foot drawdown to the interim winter pool will take about a month.  The temporary drains at the Seller’s Point Spillway were not opened.

Buckeye Lake’s water level was just a hair above the interim summer pool Monday.
