Karen Boyer Rousculp, 69, of Thornville, died on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014.
Karen was born July 10, 1945, in Lancaster, the daughter of Melvin and Audrey Klingler. She grew up in the beautiful countryside of Junction City, with her brothers, Hobert Klingler (Ruth) and Loren Klingler (both deceased); and a sister, Janet Grey (William Lee). She was a member of the New Lexington High School Class of 1962.
Karen, a strong, independent woman, raised her children, Mike Boyer (Kathy) and Sandy Glorioso without their father, who passed away when the children were young. She later enjoyed the companionship of Robert “Bob” Rousculp who also preceded her in death.
Karen retired as a librarian from Thornville Elementary, where she inspired countless children to imagine a world beyond their own, including her grandchildren, Elena and William Glorioso. She had many friends in life, to whom the family is thankful for, and they find comfort knowing that Karen is now with Janet Wilson, a very dear friend who passed away years earlier. Karen also especially treasured her friendships with Nina Stoltz and Sarah Wolfe.
Karen will be laid to rest in Zion Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery, 8000 High Point Rd., Thornville, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014, with Dr. William Snider presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sheridan High School Marching Band, 8725 Sheridan Rd. NW, Thornville, Ohio 43076.
