Johnsie Mae Teeters




A funeral service, celebrating the life of Johnsie Mae Teeters, 91, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015, with visitation immediately prior to the services from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street in Thornville. Her Pastor Michael Saldivar will be the celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Greenhill Cemetery in Johnstown.

Johnsie died peacefully September 7, 2015, in Newark, following an extended illness. She was born April 28, 1924, in Lenoir, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Ansel and Ethel (Fleming) Mabe. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for many years. She was a member of Grace Bretheren Church of Pataskala, where she sang in the Church Trio. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes and was described as a “great southern cook”.

She is survived by her children, Linda Teeters of Thornville and Jim (Sharon) Teeters of Johnstown; sister, Thelma Stamey; and grandchildren Benjamin (Nicole) Teeters and their daughter Liliana Rose and Jenna Teeters.
