Johnnie H. Cooper, Jr., age 64 of Kirkersville, passed away August 8, 2015. He was born to Johnnie and Ruby Cooper on December 12, 1950. A graduate of Watkins Memorial High School, Class of 1968, he devoted himself to his construction business. He served as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic on the Alexandria Fire Department for many years. He loved sharing time with his family and had many great times with family and friends. An avid hunter, he enjoyed golf, watching NASCAR races, softball, water skiing, making maple syrup, and mushroom hunting which he had a real knack of finding. He hosted a deer camp at his property for over 30 years.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Thompson Cooper; a loving girlfriend, Pam Olney; daughters, Carrie (Bob) Strong and Marcie (Jeremy) Cooper; son, Jason (Kim) Cooper; sisters, Carol (Dean) Glaub and Debbie (Michael) Poff; brothers, Jimmy (Christy) Cooper and Gary (Julie) Cooper; grandchildren, Kirsten, Ryan, Margie, Kaitlin, Kevin, Victoria, Jason, Camden and Alexis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, business associates and good friends.
A graveside service was held August 12, 2015, at the Kirkersville Cemetery.
The family suggesst memorials donated in memory of Johnnie be directed to the Scleroderma Foundation.
