John W. Bowermaster, Sr., age 81, of Baltimore, passed away on July 11, 2016.
John was born on March 13, 1935, to the late Wilbur R. and Armetha (Runnels) Bowermaster at Bloomingburg, OH. He graduated from Fairborn High School in 1953, attended the University of Dayton. John served in the United States Navy and began his working career at Gentile Air Force Base, and then transferred to the Newark Air Force Base. He also served as a civilian at the Defense Attache Office in South Vietnam. John retired in 1988.
He is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Larry) Williams of Heath, and Cathy (Ken) Iden of St. Louisville; a son, John W. Bowermaster (Gayla) also of St. Louisville; several grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Bowermaster of Buckeye Lake; and special friend, Dorothy Sawyer of Baltimore.
Memorial visitation from 4 p.m. until 6p.m. and service following at 6p.m. will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Rev. Rebeka Maples, formerly of the Thurston United Methodist Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow with full military honors by the Licking County Veterans Alliance, at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 16. Honoring John’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at the Thurston United Methodist Church.
