A Funeral Mass for John Richard “Jack” Brennan, age 85, of Harbor Hills, was held March 30, 2015, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Buckeye Lake, with Father William Hritsko officiating. Military honors were observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Jack was born August 15, 1929, in Akron, to the late John and Agnes (Lehner) Brennan. He passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, at his home.
Jack was a 1947 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Columbus. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict, where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Jack was the owner of A-1 Auto Parts. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing and travel.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen (Trapp) Brennan, whom he married May 10, 1952; daughter, Eileen (Ed) Thomas of Hebron; sons, John (Birdie) Brennan of Columbus and Dave (Kathy) Brennan of Hebron; grandchildren, David (Allison) Thomas, Brian (Melissa) Thomas, Lindsay Brennan, Mallory (Shawn) Chafins and Alex Brennan; and great-grandchildren, Jake, Sam and Aubriana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
