John E. McCullough

John E. McCullough died Tuesday April, 7, 2009. He was born March 3, 1931 in Baltimore, the son of the late George (Jack) and Dessie J. (Voorhees) Mc- Cullough.

He was a longtime employee of Anchor Hocking East and was employed at the Lancaster Advertiser. During his retirement, he also worked as a security guard at River Valley Mall and Diamond Power. During the Korean War, John proudly served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany in the early 1950’s.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret R. McCullough, whom he married on September 29, 2005; his children, Constance (Steven) Wengert and John (Cheryl) Mc- Cullough; his step-children, Will (Kathy) Faber, Becky Faber, John (Mary) Faber, Sharon (Roger) Hurley, James (Edie) Palmer, Harold B. Palmer Jr.; grandchildren, Steven(Carla)Wengert, Richard (Karen) Wengert, Ashley McCullough; step grandchildren, Nathan (Jiriwan), Benjamin, Mara, Jared, Bobby, Gary (Ferena), Heather (Raymond) and Samantha; great grandchildren, Megan and Tristan Wengert; 11 step great grandchildren; brothers, Vincent (Rochelle) McCullough and Jim McCullough; sisters, Florence Thornton, Rose Hanna, Betty Wiedner and Grace(Kenny) Hines; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Wilma Mc- Cullough in 2001.

A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to Fairhope Hospice and Pallative Care of Fairfield County.
