Joanne Helen Stoolfire

A funeral service celebrating the life of Joanne Helen Stoolfire, 78, of Alexandria, will be held Friday March 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Alexandria United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary E. Sandberg as Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Joanne died suddenly March 23, 2009, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark.

She was born August 13,1930, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of the late Cecil E. and Amanda J. (Wingett) Chesser. She was a graduate of Hebron High School, Class of 1948. She was the church organist, pianist and secretary of the Alexandria United Methodist Church for many years. She loved music, playing the organ, piano and accordion.

She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Jacob E. Stoolfire, whom she married on August 30, 1949; her children, Ronald (Joan) Stoolfire of Newark, Richard (Colleen) Stoolfire of Mt. Vernon, David (Ruth) Stoolfire of Alexandria, and Patricia Moritz of Alexandria; her grandchildren, Holly (Craig) Breymaier, Ronnie (Ja’Ney) Stoolfire, Brian, Justin, and Lauren Stoolfire, Aaron and Christopher Moritz; her greatgrandchildren, Stephen and Allie Breymaier, Drayton and Taylor Santavica; her sisters, Marilyn Pettifor of Reynoldsburg, Martha Queen Watkins of Glenford, Ruth Ann (Curt) Roberts of Pasadena, CA, and Carol Sue (Wayne) Mason of Apopka, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the services at 11:00 a.m. at the Alexandria United Methodist Church. Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, is assisting the family with arrangements, where an on-line guest register and video tribute is available at The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to the Alexandria United Methodist Church, 72 Church St , Alexandria, Ohio 43001.
