Janet Bogden

Janet Bogden was born to the late Esther and Elmer Weierstall on Aug 27, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Janet won a brave battle against Thyroid cancer, but sadly succumbed to COPD.

Janet met the love of her life, Emil Bogden Jr. at a church social. Love letters were exchanged during WW II and their wedding united them two weeks after his return from the navy in 1945. They were married for 29 years.

Predeceased by husband, Emil; sister, Marjorie and brother-in-law, Alvin Minnick; and brother, Don Weierstall. Janet lived life on her own terms and always had a creative spirit: expressed in big family dinners, gardening, refinishing furniture and painting. She was an award-winning watercolor artist. Janet worked at the United States Postal Service. She was involved in the TWIG organization fund raising for the Children’s Hospital of Columbus, attended Lincoln Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Life in Christ Fellowship Church. Janet and sister, Marjorie invested in real estate properties together. As the family matriarch, her strong devotion to family kept her involved in all our lives for generations.
