James W. Endsley, age 65 of Jersey Township, passed away May 16, 2018, following a brief illness. He was born October 25, 1952, in Newark, to the late James E. and Mary Eloise (Faller) Endsley.
Jim graduated from Lakewood High School and was a long time member of the Pataskala Masonic Lodge #404 F&AM. He operated Endsley Grading, serving the area constructing ponds, horse arenas and solving drainage problems. Jim also worked tirelessly as a Jersey Township Trustee, dedicated to the residents and the community; striving to treat everyone fairly and honestly in pursuit of what was best for the township.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathie Frost; sister, Janette (Bob) Lipinski; nephew, JD (Denise) Chalfant; brother-in-law, Scott (Sylvia) Frost; sister-in-law, Robin Clark; nieces and nephews, Erin (Zack) Traxler, Allison (Ken) Thomson, Steven (Kim) Clark, Ben Clark, Mike Owens and Kim (Tom) Gilbert. In addition to his parents; Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Fairall.
Jim was a loving husband, committed and loyal to his family and friends. His greatest enjoyment was spending evenings with friends in his shelter house by the pond drinking a cold Coors Light, barbecuing and discussing his favorite topics – truck pulling, the township, excavating and farming.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial reception to celebrate Jim’s life that will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the Jersey Township Building, 1481 Mink St. (south of State Route 161).
