James Lee “Jim Bo” Dishon



James Lee “Jim Bo” Dishon, 69, of Shawnee passed away at his home on February 20, 2018. He was born February 4, 1949, in Shawnee, a son of the late Chester G. and Dorothy Dougan Dishon.

He was a Vietnam Army veteran, a member of AMVET Post 51 Thornville, a member of AMVET Riders, a member of Corning Eagles Aeries 463, a member of Corning American Legion Post 327, and he was an avid Miller Falcon Fan.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Dishon; his children, Josh Dishon and Sarah Dishon; his granddaughters, Jordyn Blackford and Raegan Hook; brother, Robert (Bobbie) Dishon; brotherin law, Bob Burns; sister in-law Judy Dishon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dishon; and his sister, Virginia “Ginny Lee” Burns.

Funeral services were held February 25, 2018, at the Shawnee Hilltop Gymnasium, with Rev. Richard Fitch officiating. The Corning American Legion Post 327, along with Thornville AMVETS Post 51, conducted military honors.

Cremation will take place following the service.
