A funeral service, celebrating the life of James D. Kincaid, 82, of Kirkersville, will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Tom Myers as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Kirkersville Cemetery.
James died Monday morning, July 18, 2011, at his home. He was born in Columbus, on March 18, 1929, the son of the late Alfred and Georgia (Link). He recently enjoyed drag racing and was the “crew chief” for his son and grandson. He always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Irene (Lyons); his children, Jamie (Mike) Cloud of Kirkersville, Joyce (George) Hughes of Hernando, FL, Darlene (Bob) Schlereth of Hernando, FL and James II (Ella) of Kirkersville; his sisters, Doty (Hanna) Nicely and Joann Carlisle; his grandchildren, Missy, Mike, Frankie, Mandy, Leslie, and James III; 15 great-grandchildren with James Kincaid IV on the way; and his many friends, neighbors and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Alfred, Robert, Raymond, Richard and sister Catherine.
