IT’S THE ‘SWEET’ IN SWEET CORN

Another great opener to the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival

MILLERSPORT– Threatening skies were no threat to the crowd filling Millersport, once again to enjoy the annual Millersport sweet Corn Festival Parade and all it represents for the Millersport community.

The Millersport parade opens the Sweet Corn Festival. It starts at Millersport High School and travels north on Lancaster Street in Millersport and turns east onto Chautauqua Boulevard finishing on the Lions Community Park in front of the Main Entertainment Pavilion. Featuring 18 High School Bands and a variety of other units.

Thousands of people come to the festival each year to enjoy hot buttered sweet corn served fresh on the cob and piping hot. The whole family enjoys a wide variety of delicious foods, large midway, tractor pulls, square dancing, contests galore, historical exhibits and top-name country music entertainers while strolling the shady Historic Lions Park. The proceeds from this four-day community event is a major source of income for over 75 non-profit charitable organizations operating all of the food and game concessions.

The 2015 Nashville Headliners are Phil Vassar on Friday, Sept. 4, capturing the heart and soul in the unique and special way that only he can; and, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers on Saturday, Sept. 5, dazzling audiences for 60 years.
