Herbert F. Rayburn





Herbert F. Rayburn, 78, of Baltimore, former resident of London, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Echo Manor Nursing Home in Pickerington.

He was born on July 19, 1929, to the late Russell and Loretta Rayburn. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Signal Delivery Services with 16 years of service and a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; daughters, Nancy (Jeffrey) Thompson of London, Ohio, Marilyn (James) Davis of Millersport and Kathy Morse and Lori Rayburn, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Nahnsen of Watgerloo, Iowa, Sherie Thompson of London, Ohio, Shelley (Chris) Barr of Millersport, Annie (Isaac) Shelton of Cincinnati and Bob (Kelly Osgood) Davis of Pickerington; and great-grandchildren, Wilson and Callie Shelton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clement and Arthur Rayburn.

Services were January 26, 2008, in Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Baltimore, with Chaplain Karl Hartmann officiating. Burial followed at Union Evangelical Cemetery.
