During this busy time of year, shopping, celebrating, catching up with family, we are also remembering friends we have lost this year.
The Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 1388 lost a dear friend and member, Becky Wolfe, to cancer. She worked diligently to help raise money for the VA Hospital, Cancer Aide, and our many other charities. She made dozens, and I mean dozens, of lap robes for the VA. She was always there to help.
When she became ill, she couldn’t do as much, but never stopped trying. She was my friend and I miss her every day. In her memory, I am asking all of our members and friends to donate just $10 to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Cancer Aide and Research Fund. We have a goal, that Becky would have approved of, to reach. It is not so unattainable if we all work together.
The Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aide and Research Fund provides Cancer Grants to any member under going treatment. This is $550, twice in a life-time. It’s worth the price of membership by itself. Our goal, as an organization, is to raise enough money to find a cure for this disease. Please help us out. Think about your friends and family. This is so little to ask for something so devastating. The only cure for cancer is research.
God Bless Our Veterans and God Bless the United States of America.
