Fred was born August 16, 1940, in Columbus, to the late Ralph and Merrell (Harrold) White. He passed away unexpectedly October 25, 2017, at his home.
During the war years he lived with his mother and brother at Edgewater Beach, following which the family moved to Frazeysburg and later returned to Thornville. Fred was a 1959 graduate of Thornville High School and retired from Lucent Technologies. He was a long-standing member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was in the bell choir. Fred was also a member of the Thornville Lodge #521 F & AM, Order of the Eastern Star #156 and the Aladdin Shrine Center. He enjoyed many Shrine activities including Circus Director, Hospitality Unit, Car Club and Aladdin Road Runners who transported children to Shrine hospitals. He also worked in other Shrine activities and was able to secure imaging equipment for local fire departments and specialty playground equipment for Glenford.
Fred enjoyed his many years of friends and fellowship in Thornville. He especially enjoyed sitting in his back yard and enjoying the clickery clack of the trains in his garden railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Peggy; sons, Drew (Julie) of Fishers, Indiana, Shawn (Lindsey) of Bayfield, Colorado, Aaron (Tara) of Delaware and Guy (Cassie) Manos of Granville; grandchildren, Colin, Evan, Ethan, Ellie and Mason; and great-grandson, Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald White; and by multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Aladdin Shrine to benefit Shrine Hospitals for Children.
