NEWARK – Pay down your fines at any Licking County Library including Buckeye Lake and Hebron by donating canned goods during “Food for Fines” week.
During March 4-9, bring in nonperishable food and/or personal care donations to any Licking County Library location. Each item donated will remove $1 of overdue fines from your card. Debt collection fees will not be waived. All items donated will go to the Licking County Food Pantry Network to support the Operation Feed fundraiser.
Some accepted donations include: Canned meat/stews, peanut butter, packs of diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, juice, personal care items, saltine crackers (1 lb. box), muffin mix, pasta, canned pork & beans, tuna, macaroni & cheese, and canned soups. No items requiring refrigeration, rusted or damaged cans, open packages or homemade food will be accepted.
Even if you do not have any overdue fines, your food and personal care donations are still welcome. Drop them off at any Licking County Library location. Cash donations may be sent directly to the Licking County Food Pantry Network, 823 Steel Ave, Newark, OH, 43055.
