Floyd Allen Williams




A graveside service, celebrating the life of Floyd Allen Williams, 80, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014, at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Freda.

Floyd died September 14, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born in Mansfield, the son of the late Allen Richard and June Nellie (Pollock) Williams. He was a graduate of Mansfield Madison High School, served honorably in the US Marine Corps, and retired after many years as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways.

Floyd enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gathering with his friends. He is a member of the Thornville Amvets and Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his loving family: son, Richard A. (Kimberly) Williams of Marengo; brother, Paul (Barb) Williams of Panama City, Florida; sister-in-law, Kay Williams of Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren, Brandi (Joey) Hubbard and Courtney (Dusty) Lehman; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda on June 18, 2014; and his brother, Gary Williams.
