Eileen Parsons




Eileen Parsons, 91, of Thornville, died November 7, 2014.

Eileen was born November 15, 1922, in Evans, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Milton and Rena Davis Barr.

She was a homemaker for her family during her early adult years and shared in the work on the family farm. When her youngest child, Beverly, graduated from high school, she began working at Heartland-Fairfield Nursing Center as a certified nurse assistant. She retired in 2002 at the age of 79 with 34 years of service to the residents. Eileen was described as a lovely person who was kind to residents and gave generous amounts of quality time providing for their needs. She also was a caregiver for her parents and two sisters who preceded her in death. Her family treasures the memories of her grit, determination, fortitude and gentle listening skills.

Eileen was a member of the Thornville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Leroy (Carol) Parsons of Thornville and Charles (Alice) Parsons of Pataskala; son-in-law, Robert Buxton of Warsaw; grandchildren, Susan (Terry) Quincel of Circleville, Nancy (Dan) Fox of Thornville, Scot Parsons of Grove City, Theodore (Margaret) Parsons of Strongsville, Andrew (Gretchen) Parsons of Middleville, MI, Emily Adams of Coshocton, and Jesse (Megan) Buxton of Columbus; greatgrandchildren, Ian (Lindsay) Quincel, Eric Quincel, Sarah (Luke) Rockwell, Luke Fox, Charles and Joseph Parsons, Emma and Ainsley Parsons, and Nathan and Julia Eileen Adams; great-great grandson, Gabriel Quincel; and a brother, Dewey (Marcella) Barr of Westerville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Parsons Buxton; and brothers and sisters, Lillian Morrison, Ernest Raymond Barr, Pauline Morrison, Ianthe Barnes, Charles Barr, Julius Barr and Eugene Barr.

Services were held November 11, 2014, at the Thornville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating. Burial followed in Thornville Lutheran Cemetery.
