Edwin B. Quick

Funeral services for Edwin B. Quick, 60, of Thornville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, with the Rev. G. Michael Gribble officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Edwin died Monday, March 23, 2009, at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Edwin B. Sr. and Betty (Wilkinson) Quick.

Ed worked as a signalman on the B&O and CSX Railway. He was a United States Navy Seabees Veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Thornport Amvets Post 51 and the Newark Moose Lodge 499.

Ed is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sandy (Poulton) Quick, of the home; his sons, Dustin L. Quick and Richard Benjamin Quick; his step-mother, Betty J. Quick; his brothers, Ernie, Donnie, Paul, Jack, Dell, and Danny Quick; his sisters, Alberta McKee and Elizabeth Ludwig; his foster parents, Ben and Shirley Linn; his foster family, Mike Linn, Don Linn, Chris Linn, Chuck Linn, Diane Hupp, and Carolyn Linn; his brother-in-law, Larry Poulton; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Barber and Patty Campbell; his aunt, Dorothy Quick; many cousins and nieces and nephews; and his special beagle companion, Cricket.

Friends and family may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
