Edward Stuart Lewis, 65, formerly of Buckeye Lake, passed February 15, 2016, in Newark following an extended illness. He was born on April 10, 1950, in Columbus, the son of the late Cecil Edward and Thelma Mae (Rinehart) Lewis. Ed was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School, Class of 1968, and had served honorably in the US Marine Corps. He retired from Restaurant Equippers in Columbus. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing and, thanks to his friend John Sheffield, he will be able to go back to his favorite hunting spot one more time this fall.
He is survived by his family: his companion of many years, Becky McCann; son, Jason Schroeder; stepdaughter, Renee McCann; step-son, Brent McCann; brother, Dr. Steve (Melissa) Lewis; sisters, Dianne ( Dr. John) Winnestaffer, Debra (Bob) Elflein; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by infant daughter, Edie Nicole Lewis; and his parents.
A memorial gathering, celebrating Ed’s life, was held at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, on February 28, 2016.
