Edith L. McGill, age 77, of Baltimore, passed away April 10, 2014, at her residence. She was born on January 24, 1937, in Cane Creek, KY, to Admiral Dewey and Grettie Edwards Lyons. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Alum Crest until retiring. Edith was an amazing cook, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed taking care of her family.
She was survived by her children, Karen (Casey) Talamentes of Thurston and David (Connie) McGill of Baltimore; daughter-inlaw, Lisa McGill; grandchildren, Chris Osborne, Wesley (Christy) McGill, Lindsay (Leroy) Colfield, Heather (Brock) Mokas, and Paul McGill; great-grandchildren, Colton and Lilly Jean McGill, and Jaidon and Tristin Mokas; several nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors and friends, Harold and Diana Frances, and four legged companions, Tucker and Taz.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles McGill; sons, Jimmy and Lannie McGill; and brothers, Edgel and Edsel Lyons.
Funeral service was April 14, 2014, at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore, officiated by Pastor Roy Maple. A graveside service followed at Obetz Cemetery, Columbus.
