I am writing in response to a Letter in last week’ Beacon from Hope Logsdon. If she has been a canal property owner since 1970 why didn’t she complain about Millersport giving away three buildable waterfront easements over the years?
The easement now in question is also an old fire land and this lot is not buildable. And if this easement needs to be sold for a boat dock why didn’t the village sell the other easements for boat docks, and is the village going to sell the remaining easements that are along the canal for more boat docks?
I believe that if the village can abandon the other easements for no cost at the request of an adjacent property owner, then they should be fair and do this for the other easements along the canal. If not, why not?
