Douglas Merton Raymer, 91, of Thornville, died peacefully with his family by his side on June 16, 2017. He was born March 12, 1926, in Vermontville, Michigan. Doug was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII in the Asiatic Pacific area. He started Tansky’s Auto Supermart in Lancaster, where he was general manager and salesman for many years. He was also the owner of Circleville Motor Sales. Doug attended Drumms Luteran Church.
He is survived by his children, Thomas “TC” (Cindy) Raymer and Cindy (Dwight) Andrews; sister, Pat Carey; three grandchildren, Shannon (Leah) and Aaron ( DeeAna) Raymer and Rikki Lee (Shawn) McClaskey; eight great-grandchildren, Eli, Noah, Azure, Paislee, Brecken, Truitt, Harrison and Madalynn; and a niece, Sandy Fife. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Boyd Raymer; and his wife, Eileen (Alspaugh) Raymer.
Vistation will be Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, June 23, at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24,2017, at Drumms Lutheran Church, 8995 Drums Bottom Road NE, Thornville, with Rev. David Bugh officiating.
