A memorial service celebrating the life of Donna Jean George, age 84, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, with Lay Pastor Scott England officiating.
Donna Jean passed away May 24, 2017, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born October 29, 1932, in Newark, to the late Walter and Irma (Stevens) Ice.
Donna Jean graduated from Ohio University. She taught at Jacksontown Elementary School, teaching first and third grades and music. She retired in 1983. She was a church organist for 59 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles George; sons, Thad (Christy) George of Newark and Todd (Pam) George of Heath; four grandchildren, Kelby, Graceylnn, Tyler and Tony; two great-grandchildren, Kiarra and Mariah; sister-in-law, Sharon K. Ice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Franklin “Frank” Ice.
Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath.
Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery.
