Della Blanche Holliday Cupp, age 94, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at The Springs at Carroll. She was born on September 10, 1915, to the late Charles and Sadie Thomas Holliday on the family farm near Pleasantville. Della graduated from Pleasantville High School and married her late husband, Clarence E. Cupp on March 17, 1946, in Lancaster.
During 60 years of marriage, she was a housewife, residing on Tschopp Road, Lancaster. Della was preceded in death by her brothers, Lester Holliday and Lawrence Holliday; and sisters, Gladys Holliday Snider, Edna Holliday Fulton Chamberlain and Gertrude Holliday Snyder. She is survived by her nieces, Marilyn Snider of Pomona, CA, Sally Snider (William) Swabey of Springfield, Kathryn Snider (Frederick) Stockwell of Yellow Springs, and Anita Snyder Hesson (Donald) of Pickerington; nephew, Michael Rex Snyder of McKinney, TX; dear friends, Dorothy and Howard (Nick) Nicholson; and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral service is Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with Chaplain Linda Ward officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens at a later date. Friends may visit 12:30- 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
