Cranberry Bog benefit set for Oct. 3

BUCKEYE LAKE – Buckeye Lake’s most famous band and Bandleader Paul Clark will play at the first annual “Bogtoberfest” on Saturday Oct. 3 at Buckeye Lake. The event “BOGtoberfest” is a fundraiser for the Buckeye Lake Museum with proceeds going to preserving Cranberry Bog.

The outside event runs from 3-10 p.m. in the parking lot area next to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church right across from the Buckeye Lake Brewery.

There will be a 200-seat beer garden with brats, pizza from Buckeye Lake’s Pizza Cottage and hot dogs Specially brewed beers for this event, by the Buckeye Lake Brewery, will be available in the beer garden.

The Paul Clark Band will take the stage at 6 p.m. “Paul has lived in Buckeye Lake his entire life and once played the Crystal Ballroom as a young man,” said Buckeye Lake Museum Director J-me Braig. “He is well known as a very giving community leader to many organizations.”

Braig said the Historical Society appreciates Clark and his band members’ help to raise much-needed funds. “The Buckeye Lake Historical Society and museum has lost 70 percent of its income with the draining of Buckeye Lake. We are unable to operate the Queen of the Lake tour boat. This fundraiser will help us to continue with the monitoring of Cranberry Bog,” Braig said.
