Clyde Junior Carpenter, 93, of Baltimore, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. He was a graduate of Thurston High School and later served in the US Navy during WWII. He loved fishing and golf.
Clyde was a letter carrier for 25 years in the Village of Baltimore and a janitor at Liberty Union High School. He was a member of VFW Post 3761, a past fire chief of the Liberty Township Fire Department, a Village of Baltimore Council member, and a former member of Fairfield Fish and Game. Clyde was a friend of Bill W’s for 39 years, 8 months.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Myrtle Carpenter; sisters, Frances Elliott and Elsie Jane (Ron) Ramsey, (or as Clyde would say) “each of whom had a brother”; daughter, Laura (Kevin) Mustard; son, Rick Carpenter; daughter, Kathy (Dick) Poland; grandsons, Phillip Willis, Jeremy Willis (Allan), Kelvin Zimmerman, Khristopher Zimmerman, and Robert Reinschield; granddaughter, Jennifer Wallace; and great-grandchildren, Gabby and Jeff Zimmerman, Brittany and Briana Kerr, and Brieddle, Brooklyn, and Carma Reinschield.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Carpenter, Sr. and Laura Edith Carpenter; brother-in-law, Frankie Elliott; and son-in-law, Jeff Zimmerman.
Friends and family may call at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, October 29th and on Tuesday, October 30th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Funeral service was held October 30, 2018, at the Maple Grove United Brethren Church, Baltimore, with the Reverend Michael Willis officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery, Baltimore..
