A funeral service for Clarence “C.W.” Schellenbarg, 65, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Irville Cemetery.
Clarence went to be with the Lord Monday, October 26, 2009, at Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born August 15, 1944, in Lima, Ohio and was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas.
Mr. Schellenbarg loved to play softball at Fiberglass Field here in Newark, where he played for over 20 years; he also enjoyed bowling, and fishing. His favorite sports teams were the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his loving mother, Maxine Gause; three sisters, Rose (Clifford) Mason of Hebron, Julie (Harold) Neldon of Newark, and Gloria (Larry) Longfellow of Toboso; three brothers, Bob Schellenbarg of Marne, Leroy (Connie) Gause of St. Louisville, and Donald (Dorothy Cotter) Gause of St. Louisville; his many nieces and nephews that were like his own children; and his canine friend, Conrad.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Schellenbarg; and step father, Chester Gause.
