Clare Louise (Shetrone) Thompson




Clare Louise ( Shetrone) Thompson, age 94, of Whitehall, died March 4, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born August 10, 1919, in Baltimore, to Floyd D. and Alta J. (Schumaker) Shetrone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurrel H. Thompson, on December 24, 2010; and by brother, Dean Shetrone, and his wife, Lee, formerly of Lancaster.

She graduated along with her husband from Liberty Union High School, Class of 1937, where she served as school secretary for five more years. The Thompsons have made Whitehall their home since 1950; and were the parents of three sons, Rod of Whitehall, Craig (Jo) of Marion, Ohio and Allyn (Nan) of Westerville. Two grandchildren also survive Zach Thompson of Columbus and Sarah Thompson, currently attending the University of Michigan. Clare retired from the State of Ohio, APD, and has continued to reside at her home in Whitehall. She is an honorary member of Whitehall Senior Citizens.

Friends may call Friday, March 7, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, where funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Burial follows at Kirkersville Cemetery.
