Civic association sets spring meeting

BUCKEYE LAKE – The Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association will hold its annual spring dinner meeting on Wednesday, April 18 at the Buckeye Lake Eagles, located at the intersection of Ohio 79 and Canal Road.

The featured speaker is Dan West, Chief of Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Recreation. West and his staff of 450 full-time employees provide services to 55 million visitors to Ohio parks each year. He will discussing some of the challenges his division faces as well as the opportunities that exist. With the shared ownership of over 32 miles of shoreline, Buckeye Lake residents have many opportunities to interact with the Division of Parks and Recreation. BLACA President Merv Bartholow credits West with a major role in improving the relationship between ODNR and the Buckeye Lake communities.

A social hours begins at 6 p.m. followed by a stuffed chicken breast dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for BLACA members and $15 for non-members. Reservations are required. Call Therese Mill at 467-3352 or Janet Bartholow at 928-6874.
