Charles James “Jim” Stires

Charles James “Jim” Stires, 82 of Thornville, passed away peacefully in his sleep, while surrounded by his loving companion of 29 years, Mary Brown and her family on July 12, 2011, at Autumn at the Lake, Thornville.

He was the loving father of Craig (Jodi) Stires, Marsha (Bob) Lillie, Terri (Andy) Hume, Debbie Aston, Dawn (Matt) Kershner, and Linda Stires.

His extended family includes Jacquie (Don) Leaser, Debbie ( Gus) O’Day, Brenda ( Bill) Bremer, LaDonna (Kurt) Smith and Charlotte (Mike) Branum; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, June (Frank) Ford and Norma (Dave) Stidham; and his brother, Eldon (Margie) Stires.

Charles was a veteran of the US Air Force, a member of the American Legion at LaBelle, Florida; and was a retired Teamster, working at the Kroger Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clell and Jessie Irene Stires.

Private family services will follow at a later date.
