Carrie E. Walser

Carrie E. Walser, age 90, of Pleasantville, entered into eternal peace Tuesday, July 24, 2007, surrounded by her family at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

She was born February 1, 1917, in Pleasantville, to Ira T. and Ethel L. (Holcomb) Peters. She was a member of Pleasantville United Methodist Church, past member of FairfieldCounty Republican Club, very active in her volunteer work for the churches, schools, and her community acts where she always had a helping hand to anyone that needed it. She worked with Soil and Water Conservation in Perry County and she retired from the State of Ohio in 1985. She loved music, the theatre and entertaining, especially her family to one of her home cooked meals.

Carrie is survived by her dearly loved and devoted husband of 67 years, “Willard” who she called her “Country Gentleman”; children, Gail (Don) Love, Norman (Kitty) Walser and Jenny (Brad) Markwood; grandchildren, Greg (Jennifer) Love, Brandon (Susan) Love, T.J. Walser, Travis (Jodi) Markwood and John (Jennifer) Markwood; six great grandchildren; twin sister, Clara Mouser; and brother, Lester (Dorothy) Peters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ethel Peters; and brother & sister-in-law Robert (Mary) Peters.

Funeral service was July 28, 2007, with Reverend Jeff Jewel officiating. Burial followed at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.
