Carlos E. Snider, 79, of Thornville, passed away April 16, 2014, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on July 4, 1934, in Fairfield County, son of the late Freeman and Edith (Woolard) Snider. He retired from Kroger Tamarack Dairy Plant after 21 years of service. Carlos was also a lifelong farmer who enjoyed the outdoors. He was a hard worker, a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving family: wife of 61 years, Wanda; five children, Jane Ann Benz-Miller, Wayne (Rhonda) Snider, Susan Snider, Phillip (Cheryl) Snider, and Juanita (Ron) Unkefer; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marguerite Cahill and Patricia (Max) Donahue; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Freeman, Jr., and Richard; and three sisters, Blanche Rousculp, Freda Sheets, and Betty Mauk.
A funeral service, celebrating Carlos’ life, was held April 22, 2014, in the Oakthorpe Church, with Rev. Max Donahue and Mark Snider officiating. Burial followed in Oakthorpe Cemetery.
