Burness “Bunny” Eileen Cotterman




A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Burness “Bunny” Eileen Cotterman, age 81 of Newark, was held July 16, 2014, at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial followed at Fairmount Cemetery.

Bunny was born in Hebron, on March 8, 1933, to the late James and Alice (Dupler) Neel. She passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on July 11, 2014.

Bunny was an active member of the White Chapel United Methodist Church. She was formerly an active member of the Hebron Church of the Nazarene, where she was a volunteer and Sunday School teacher. She was a devoted homemaker, enjoyed her animals, cats, farming, sewing and gardening, but most important in her life was taking care of and spending time with her loving family.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Donald “Roger” Cotterman, whom she married in June 1958; daughter and sonin law, Sherry and Mark Fischer of Newark; son, Donald L. Cotterman of Newark; brother and sister-in-law, James “David” and Carol Neel of Millersport; grandchildren, Lauren Fischer and Drew Fischer; and two nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bunny, to the Carol Strawn Center, 126 W. Church Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
