I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Do you think maybe Noah is coming to Ohio because it has been raining so much?
Yes, as usual there are two seasons in Ohio…winter and the 4th of July. Speaking of that, this year’s BLASST will be at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 1. Yes, we’ll continue to be on the same night as RED WHITE & BOOM. Grumble…Grumble… Grumble… to someone else please!
Please hold your BLASST donation checks until June 1. I don’t want your checks gathering dust in my mailbox or getting lost in the forwarding to Florida. Our donation request letters will be going out the second week of June. If you get a letter after you have sent in your contribution, we apologize upfront. It is a big job getting out all the letters.
New donors are always welcome. BLASST is entirely supported by the Buckeye Lake community. It is the largest community-funded fireworks display in Ohio.
Please send only checks made payable to BLASST and mail them after June 1 to BLASST, 13284 West Bank Drive, Millersport,
OH 43046. BLASST is a 501 C3 organization so your contributions are tax deductible.
Please don’t give or send cash to any person, bar or club for BLASST unless you read about it in The Beacon. This doesn’t apply to Papa Boo’s and the continuing support of their Wednesday Night trivia.
Each year I dedicate the hours I spend on BLASST to someone or some group. This year it will be several people. Jack Loudermilk is the first on my list.
We lost Jack last summer. He and his wife, Rhonda were some of the first people to help me to get involved with our community. They got me involved with the Tour of Homes many years ago among other things. Jack loved the fireworks and always donated to BLASST. He had my respect and admiration and I miss him as many others do and will. A big hug and my respect to you, Rhonda, where ever you are.
I’ll be writing about the others in future letters.
