Betty L. Flynn




Betty L. Flynn, of Pleasantville, died April 4, 2017. Born May 09, 1934, in Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Naomi (Wince) McGrath.

Betty graduated from Zanesville High School and Shalom Bible College and Seminary. A long time employee of Forest Rose and member of Fairfield Christian Church, Betty loved travel, adventure and learning new things. She volunteered at the 1996 Olympics, traveled to Europe several times with friends and joined mission trips to Jamaica and Haiti.

Survivors include daughter, Kathy Flynn Ardrey of Lancaster; granddaughters, Emily Flynn (Beau) Johnson of Georgia, Brook Ardrey (David) Dunfee of Florida and Erica Ardrey (Lance) Carr of Lancaster; great grandchildren, Melanie Dunfee and Benjamin Johnson; daughter-in-law, Jane Murray Flynn of Georgia; brother, Roger McGrath of Texas; and nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Eugene M. Flynn; sons, John and James Flynn; granddaughter, Jamie Ardrey; and brothers, Richard and John E. Mcgrath. She has also been blessed with many dear friends including Betty Davis, Becky Bailes, Toby Rapp and their families.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or Fairfield Christian Church. Many thanks to the loving staff of Heartland of Fairfield. A celebration of Betty’s life was held April 8, 2017, at Fairfield Christian Church, Lancaster. Funeral arrangements were handled by Halteman, Fett and Dyer Funeral Home with internment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens following the services.
