Barbara R. Scaife, age 79 of Buckeye Lake, passed away August 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 24, 1933, in Newark, to the late Clyde and Charlotte (Elder) Baker. She retired from Western Electric in 1984. Bar- bara was a member of the Newark American Legion, the Buckeye Lake Eagles, and the Buckeye Lake V.F.W. She enjoyed crafting, slot machines, and playing Bingo. She was an avid online gamer and loved the television series CSI and NCIS, as well as any John Wayne or western type movie.
She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Vicki (Darrell) Sparks and Connie (Gilbert) Arnold; four grandchildren, James Laverty, Kimberly Ward, Benjamin Arnold and Matthew Arnold; one great-grandchild, Whytney Cuzick; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Adalynn Cuzick; her sister, Mollie Shaffer; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Missie.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Baker.
A funeral service, celebrating Barbara’s life, was held August 19, 2013, in the chapel of the Hebron home of Hoskinson- Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Steve Bush officiating. Burial followed in Newark Memorial Gardens.
