Anna Dell Herrmann




A funeral service, celebrating the life of Anna Dell Herrmann, 92, of Hebron, was held May 10, 2011, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor, Wesley Baker as celebrant. Burial followed at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg.

Ann died Friday morning, May 6, 2011, in Newark, after a brief illness. She was born May 15, 1918, in Hebron, the daughter of the late Harlan and Effie (Pendleton) Voorhies. She was a graduate of Hebron High School and Otterbein College, where she was active in the Epsilon Kappa Tau sorority.

She worked for many years on the admission staff at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, she was the first Associate Dean of Women. She was active in the Association of College Admission Counselors and the College Entrance Exam Board for many years.

While in Philadelphia, she met Dr. Melvin Herrmann, her dentist, who became her loving husband for 32 years. She was a member of the Hetrick chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Hebron Historical Society, and the Hebron United Methodist Church.

Anna Dell is survived by many loving cousins, friends and neighbors.

Memorials in her honor may be directed to the Hebron Historical Society or the building fund of the Hebron United Methodist Church.
