Alice L. Cox, 78, formerly of Baltimore, passed away September 28, 2009, at Altercare of Canal Winchester.
Alice was born in Cherokee County, Texas on May 25, 1931, to the late George and Wilma Matteson. She was a member of the Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Margaret “Maggie” (John) Gardner of Lancaster, Wilma “Billie” (Paul) Miller of Lancaster, and Georgia Hass of Canal Winchester; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Streety of Texas; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Terry Jones and Betty McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon T. Cox, Sr.; son, Tim Cox; and five brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Halteman- Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Herbert officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
