Hebron Fire Department received a $4,800 First Responder Grant from Marathon Petroleum Company last week. Hebron Fire Chief Randy Weekly, right, said it would be used toward specialized equipment to help remove accident victims trapped in commercial vehicles and machinery. It would be available to departments via mutual aid. Marathon transport driver Duane Moore, left and formerThorn Township Fire Chief, said trucks containing hazardous materials often pass though the greater Hebron area, including Marathon Oil trucks. “We go through here a lot,” he said. Moore presented the $4,800 check to Weekly with Marathon Regional Transport Manager Chris Lint. Beacon photo by Scott Rawdon.
