Lakewood Superintendent Jay Gault got a rude awakening early Wednesday morning. “I got a call at 3 a.m., telling me a car was sitting on our football field,” he said. The car was there following a chase by Hebron Police for a marked lanes violation and an expired license plate. Two people fled the vehicle on foot after crashing through two fences, but were not apprehended, prompting Gault to close school Wednesday for safety purposes because of concerns about their whereabouts.
