Amanda Schoop, Financial Aid advisor from COTC/OSUN explains the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA to Lakewood students and parents on Jan. 9. Students and parents returned to Lakewood on January 26 for the schools’s Financial Aid Jam Session to complete their FAFSA. “College Goal Sunday” is another opportunity to complete the FAFSA. The local host for the state-wide free financial aid event on Sunday, February 12, is The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College. It begins at 2:00 p.m. in the John Gilbert Reese Center, 1209 University Drive, Newark. The free event, presented by the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) and endorsed by the Ohio Board of Regents, assists students and parents with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Due to the great demand expected for assistance in completing the FAFSA, families are encouraged to register for the free event at www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org or by calling 1-800-233-6734. The FAFSA is the key to funding a college education and helping families to overcome financial barriers that otherwise prevent students from attending the institution they want to. While walk-ins are welcome, registration is encouraged. Courtesy photo.
