Last Sunday was a picture-perfect day. But Dawes Arboretum Horticulture Director Mike Ecker’s warning last week that it might be a very brief autumn color season looked to be accurate for the lake area. An aerial tour of the area found few of the brilliant yellows, reds and oranges often associated with the annual leaf change. This photo of The Dawes Arbortetum is representative of the area with browns and dark greens far more prominent. Beacon aerial photo by Charles Prince. 25p1.jpg
