The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is investigating the cause of a boat fire that started before 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, on the North Bank in Buckeye Lake Village near the Boat Boys store, formerly Sayre Brothers Marine. The boat was a Boat Boys rental and arson is suspected. The Buckeye Lake, Millersport, and Hebron fire departments responded to the scene. A dock was also damaged in the blaze. Millersport Fire Department responded to the mutual aid call from Buckeye Lake with four firefighters on its fire boat. Millersport received the call at 4:59 a.m. and arrived on the scene at 5:13 a.m., finding the boat fully involvedwiththefirespreadingtothedock.
