You can enjoy a mystery dinner play and help renovate the former New Lexington municipal building into an artist space, museum and restored opera house on May 14 at the Red Barn in Thornville. The Perry County Opera House & Cultural Arts Center is presenting two performances – one in Thornville on May 14 and one in New Lexington on May 13 – of “Missing Mama, ” written and directed by Betsy A. Martin. “Missing Mama” is a comedy set in a cottage along the banks of the Muskingum River where the Whitting family: Marge (Shirley Thompson); Betty (Rita Irvin); Edwin (Tom McGreevy); and Gloria (Shelley Clontz) are desperately searching for their missing mama, Lillian. Detective Komadoski (Ric Flowers) has been called in to investigate the mysterious disappearance. Tickets must be purchased in advance from cast members, Thompson Insurance in Thornville, Perry County Chamber of Commerce or Ogden’s Insurance.
